My Best Friend and Bridesmaid, Carmen Chivers.
We started at 2pm in the afternoon at my place and kicked on all night till the wee hours of the next morning!!
We had a professional dance teacher Leeanne, come and teach us a dance routine for 20 girls in my kitchen/lounge area for 2 hours to the song ‘Maniac’. We cleared out all the furniture and took our shoes off and boogied our little butts off. It was nothing short of hysterical!
After we finished dancing and a few bottles of wine and champagne, we freshened up, got changed and headed down to Stella Blu at Dee Why Beach for cocktails and dinner. The service there is sensational and the food is amazing. Being set on the beach, I couldn’t think of a better place I would rather be.Too Good.
I’d have to say I was of course!!! My friends are so gorgeous and made me feel like a super star all day. It was the beginning of what is sure to be an awesome wedding. All the girls got on so well and we are all going out of town for the wedding so it has helped getting everyone together beforehand so the wedding becomes a real party for new friends. This was always our aim.
I’d have to say the funniest thing that happened was seeing this guy run up the back of the car in front of him because he was too busy perving on us girls getting out of our cab to go into dinner! We’ve never stopped traffic like that before.
No, nothing. Jay and I held our Bucks/Hens on the same day and all the girls and guys met up later that night for a house party which rocked. All the boys were so sweet when we got back to the house. They were finishing up a round of Texas Hold’em with real dealers and tables after countless beers and pizza and were all stoked to see their other halves strut in for some more drinks and dancing at the end of the night. The feeling in the room was awesome. So much great energy and love. No silly strippers or anything. That was our rule. Re-unite with your loved ones after a mad day with your mates is what we wanted and what we got thanks to our very cool best man and bridesmaid.
I think how we held our big day was the best. If we weren’t going away for the wedding then maybe an out of town trip to the Hunter Valley as a big group for a weekend would be fun, but I had the best time ever and so did all our friends if all the phone calls and texts saying "massive thanks" and "great night" are anything to go by.
