Maz Compton

Our celebrity hen this month is the gorgeous Maz Compton. The multi talented MTV presenter married Benjamin Facey on February 17th 2007.

It was a combined effort of sorts and very last minute. My one and only bridesmaid was flying in from Chicago the day before the hen's day. So I had spoken to my other great friend Nikki about what I wanted and she did the arranging. I said that all I wanted to do was hang out with my girls and play lawn bowls in the sun. Nothing big, nothing fussy just an arvo of being chicks and wearing something silly. So with that in mind, Harbord Bowls Club was booked and Geriatric was the theme for the afternoon.

 Saturday February 10th 2007

It was more of a hen's arvo that turned into the night.

Well firstly we had a bowls lesson and were then split into two groups for a bowls challenge. During this time there were rules. Each person was given 10 paperclips that they had to have clipped to their outfit.

Then there were 'black-listed' words. So if you were caught out using one of the words, the person who caught you out was allowed to take one of your paperclips. At the end of the bowls the person with the most paperclips won. The words that you weren't allowed to say were -  Wedding, Honeymoon,  Beer & Ben (My Fiance).

After that, we were split into three groups and given ten rolls on toilet paper and had a time limit to create a wedding dress on one of the girls in the group. Then there was a fashion parade in the bowls club which was hilarious. And finally, the good ol' marshmallow game, where I had to answer questions about Ben and if I got them wrong I had to stuff a marshmallow in my mouth, the photos say it all.

There was also a Bollywood themed birthday party going on at the other end of the bowls club which we managed to eventually be removed from - their dance floor was rocking and I thought it was a good idea to join parties and move in on their dance turf!

Well my best friend Beth did get the number of one of the barmen who she had been chatting up all night, and yes we thought it would be a great idea to text him that night! There was a game of pool and I believe my ability is much better after a few beverages,  so it became quite the competitive game in the wee hours of the morning.The three remaining soldiers Beth, Nikki and I do have photo evidence of a Kebab eating moment on the way home.

 I made it pretty clear to my girlfriends that I didn't want to participate in the any of the stereotypical Hens stuff that I am not really into - so it really was just a group of my friends having a fun afternoon in the sun.

I maybe would have met up with all the boys! They had Ben's bucks on the same day at North Manly Bowling Club and so we both had really similar afternoons. It would have been fun to meet up with everyone in neutral territory and kick on.
