Girly Slumber Party!
Hens Slumber Party
Most girls by their mid twenties will have seen the original movie Grease. One of my personal favourite parts has always been the bit where the Pink Ladies have a slumber party.
I SO wanted to be in that room with the Rizzo and Sandy in my pjs, doing hair and makeup and talking about boys! Nothing’s changed because now I love doing the same - it just involves a bit more wine!
The sleepover or slumber party will never go out of fashion and what better way to spend a hens night with your besties than holed up in your own house, or even better in a cottage in somewhere like the Hunter Valley, Blue Mountains, Adelaide Hills or the Snowies, with a roaring fire, fleecy PJs and ugg boots! Perfect for winter hens parties but also great in the summer too.
The best way to enjoy a slumber party is to have it as the main feature of a weekend away. Combine the evening’s activity with day time walks, spa appointment, boozy lunch, horseriding (just don’t do the boozy lunch and then the horseriding!)
* Chatting over Chips n dips
* Beauty parlour – face masks, manicures and pedicures
* Communal dinner
* Games
* Dancing and singing to classic tracks into pretend or real microphone
* Talking about blokes and bitching!
* Telling scary stories
* Get the chocolate from the pile of flour! Remember this one where you make a flour cake in an upturned bowl, place a piece of chocolate on the top then chip away at the pile until the piece of chocolate is perched on a precarious tower of flour…the person who makes it tumble has to get it out of the flour with her teeth… worth it though!
* “I have never” – the best way to find out the truth about your friends and their escapades over the years!
* Champagne
* Wine
* Mineral water (and Beroccas!)
* Chips and dips
* Big communal bowl of pasta
* Cheese and bikkies
* CHOCOLATE
