Hens.com.au was launched in May 2005. The idea developed while I was planning my own wedding earlier that year.

I had given my best girlfriend, who was organizing my hens party a strict brief - a glamorous high tea party!

Easy you would think, but not so. Trying to find details of a suitable venue that could accommodate the date, menu and number of henettes proved to be a big task.

Fortunately we came across the Park Hyatt in Sydney and the glamorous high tea party was met to perfection! Three-tier cake stands with all sorts of treats and sweets, champagne and views across to the Opera House. Very girly and not a veil in site!

Knowing the enormity of the wedding market, I knew there must be just as many brides-to-be looking for advice about hens parties ... parties that were sophisticated and organised, with more glamour and interest than a bar crawl and a stripper!

Whilst there were many wedding websites listing photographers, stationery, gowns, etc..., nothing specific existed listing options for hens parties - at least not the sort of hens party I wanted! The concept of Hens.com.au was born.

Drawing on my background in advertising and publishing I set out to create an online portal for all things hens related.

Hens.com.au covers all options, from life drawing classes, pampering sessions in day spas, belly dancing classes, tarot card reading parties, to hiring hunky waiters to serve your hens party at home. The list is endless!
